Lorraine Thiel with the Eyeslices team Lorraine Thiel has been involved in the commercialisation of new businesses within the Fine Chemical Industry for over 10 years.
She has a unique combination of business as well as technical skills and expertise, which will assist projects at each stage in the commercialisation process right from idea generation through to the establishment of the final business.
Her formal qualifications include a Ph.D in Chemistry, Certificate in Financial Management, as well as a number of business and financial courses.
Dr Thiel spent a number of years working for one of South Africa's largest chemical companies in its growth strategy of developing a new business cluster in Fine Chemicals. Market segments included pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, personal care products, as well as food and animal feed products.
She furthermore assisted this company in the creation of a specialised Stage-Gate Business Development Model for chemical businesses.
Dr Thiel now works as an independent business consultant applying this experience to the exciting development of the chemical industry in South Africa.
